Born in Batman in 1994, Nalin Acar graduated from the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Department of Urban and Regional Planning. Her BA thesis focused on the representation of places in Kurdish Cinema. Acar was part of the Mezopotamya Film Collective from 2016 to 2019. She directed a short film, Rojek Ji Rêzê (An Ordinary Day), with Adar Taş in 2019. She also co-wrote the script for the documentary “Çatının Tozu” (“Dust of the Roof”) together with Adar Taş and Sevgi Şahin. “Stone and Water” was developed through the collaborative project “BAK: Revealing the City through Memory”, which screened at the Istanbul Modern as part of its program ‘Voicing Voices’ and at the Pera Museum during the 14th Documentarist Istanbul Documentary Days.
Her film "Stone and Water" was selected for screening at Foça Film Days 2022.
