Diego Pontes is from Paraiba, Brazil. After studying advertising, he began working as a video editor at an affiliate of TV Cultura, a Brazilian public broadcasting network. Today, Pontes works as a freelance filmmaker all over the world. His work seeks to convey a cultural repertoire enriched by the opportunity “to breathe new air and new cultures and to exchange knowledge with other people.” His 2021 short film Weaving Stories has won awards for best cinematography, best editing, and best soundtrack. 

 "Weaving Stories" was selected for screening at Foça Film Days 2022.
