Born in 1980, Şahit Yiğit began his filmmaking career as an assistant cameraman, working with well-known cinematographers Erdoğan Engin, Metin Erdoğdu, Erdal Kahraman and Kemal Şanlı in Yeşilcam, home of Turkey’s film industry. He went on to direct his first feature film in 2016, receiving his first international award for a festival film shot in 2017. Yiğit has directed for television, cinema and major advertising agencies in Turkey, and he has served as a jury member at some of the world’s leading film festivals.

His film “Bahur (Incense: The Silent Language of Fragrance)” was selected for screening at Foça Film Days 2022.
